Artists comment : You can see a painting and know when it is not right as in this case so what do you do? This is one of the times you know that there are things you do not like or do not work in a painting. I painted this over a year ago and painted the flying wagtail several times and the same with the sea. They do not work and the birds jiz is not right. I took it to a RSPB evening where I gave a presentation and ask for a critique and the general opinion was that the red stripe was to imposing. I took everything on board tried reworking the bird and sea yet again but the final painting is what you see here. |
