WWT Slimbridge exhibition

7th Nov—5th Jan
‘Source to the sea’

With only a few weeks to my main exhibition this year I am frantically making sure all the frames are ready, paintings are finished and everything is ready to take to Gloucester. This is very much a return to where it really started for my paintings with a visit as a boy and encouragement from Peter Scott on my first painting attempts in 1971.
The exhibition space is big and I am sharing it with local wildlife artist Jackie Garner and sculpture Eddie Hallam. There will be over 60 paintings and many sculptures.
I will be showing large oils, sketches and my more detailed acrylic paintings.
This will be my largest exhibition to date and its not often I have so many paintings at one time but I have held back this year to make this show special.
I would be great to meet as many of you as possible and this is a good excuse for a great day out

World parrot trust

Parrots are the most endangered family of birds in the world through habitat destruction, illegal trade and introduced predators. The world parrot trust is a few miles from where I live and I have been displaying my paintings there for a number of years. The more I visited the Park the more I was fascinated by these birds and recently I have been painting them and with every sale a donation is given to the trust.
I have a new web site dedicated to parrots  www.parrot-painting.com which is linked to my main site.

Marwell international wildlife art society award.

My painting of a Little Owl was runner up bird painting of the exhibition in August.  to view click the image

Guest artist—Annabel Greenhalgh

This is a new feature spotlighting other artists; please do have a look at their work.
I met Annabel a few years ago via my newsletters and we have corresponded since then. I love the atmosphere she captures in her work, mainly the Pembrokeshire area where she lives and works.
Annabel has successful classes, correspondence courses and ‘paint your own pastel kits’ for beginners including instructions and materials.
